Can I request the county or year of a license plate?
Unfortunately because we collect recycled plates, we can't promise specific counties, particular years or colors of plate, although we can guarantee that you get the specific state requested. You can, however, have your own vanity plate or retired car plate turned into any of the products you see here on the site. Click here for more info.
Where do you get your license plates from?
We buy our plates from large license plate dealers and junkyards from around the country.
Do you buy plates from the general public?
Sorry we do not, however we do gratefully accept donated plates.
My license plate on my purse had a small scratch. Are they all like that?
Because we use authentic recycled plates, small nicks and scratches are inherent in the plates and add to their history and character. However, because we buy only #1 grade plates (out of 5 grades) the imperfections are very minor.
Is it true that the black leather-like material is really recycled tire rubber?
Yes it is. Used tires are ground up and reconstituted along with binding materials into rubber sheeting that is about 40% post-consumer recycled. The material is very soft and supple with a suede-like finish. With use, it will burnish to a low gloss.
Does it smell like rubber?
It emits a very faint rubber smell which you may notice when you first take your product out of the box. For the most part you can not smell the rubber.
Are there any special care instructions for the recycled rubber?
Soap and water or a little tire protectorant such as Armour All can help punch up the shine, but it is not really needed. However, keep you rubber product out of hot direct sun, and don't store in a really hot area (next to a radiator for example.) this can cause the rubber to develop fine cracks. Rubber - like pearls - likes to be used! It will stay soft and supple with use.
Do the bottle cap belts fit through most belt loops?

How are the belts sized?
Bottle cap belts are sized as follows: S = 28.5"-31.5", M = 33"-36", L=37"-39.5", XL=40.5"=43.5". If you are between sizes, we recommend you go up to the larger size.
Where do you get your bottle caps from?
Our bottle caps are a combination of vintage, no longer manufactured caps, new caps and used beer caps collected from bars in Pittsburgh and other cities.
Is every thing 100% recycled?
No, it would be impossible to make products that are all recycled. We try to incorporate reused and recycled parts into our products as much as possible, and aim for an average of at least 50% recycled content in our product line.
